Recent IRS Notice on ERTC - What you Need to Know
BPS wants to ensure you have a firm grasp on Employee Retention Tax Credits (ERTC), and make you aware of the recent IRS Notice regarding ERTC scams. In short, fraudulent claims are being made on behalf of businesses which will likely result in steep fines and penalties to taxpayers. To mitigate these issues, we advise you to keep us informed of any communication you may have with outside providers. As your CPA, we have a concern relative to illegitimate third-parties who are selling ERTC and other incentives with “too good to be true” offers.
Should you receive solicitation emails, please let us know so we can assist you in determining whether you legitimately qualify. By doing so, you’re also helping us protect other taxpayers who may fall victim to these aggressive tactics, as scammers should be reported to the IRS.
With all of this in mind, we continue to see plenty of legitimate qualifiers. We are happy to assist if you still need to be evaluated. Contact us to discuss any concerns you have about the IRS Notice or to receive help assessing eligibility requirements.
