BPS Welcomes Ben Lynch to the Firm's Leadership Team
BPS is pleased to announce that Ben Lynch, CPA, will be elevated to the firm’s leadership team as a principal effective January 1, 2023. Ben joined BPS in 2008, proving growing your own leader works. He now assumes strategic and operational responsibilities for the South Carolina-based, award-winning accounting and tax consultancy firm, which serves clients across the United States and internationally.
Commenting on the announcement, BPS Managing Shareholder Russell Bauknight said, “We’re pleased to welcome Ben as a partner. Since we both work within BPS’ trust and estate practice, I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Ben and see him grow as a highly competent advisor to our clients. Equally important, I’ve seen his leadership skills grow and how he is now developing younger members of our team. Developing our own partners has always been a firm goal. It demonstrates to our team that we are committed to their growth, and everyone has the opportunity to grow their career with BPS.”
Lynch joined the firm in 2008 after graduating from the University of South Carolina. As he progressed from a staff level tax accountant to senior manager, he assumed more responsibilities in client service as well as implementing the firm’s strategy; recruiting, retention and professional development; and developing an inclusive culture that has welcomed more diversity to BPS and the accounting profession.
“What attracted me when I joined BPS was its culture. Accounting can be a challenging profession, but BPS emphasizes support and mentoring its team as well as sponsoring teams and activities outside of work to provide balance. I love the people I work with and look forward to continuing our growth on all fronts as a partner,” Lynch said.
Lynch focuses his practice on estates and trust planning and compliance, a major area of expertise for BPS. As a trusted advisor, he also assists family-owned companies with succession planning to ensure a smooth transition from one generation to the next. Additionally, Lynch works with individuals on tax planning and matters with the Internal Revenue Service.
Lynch earned a B.S. in Business Administration-Accounting from the University of South Carolina. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants and the Columbia Estate Planning Council. He is a past president of the Columbia Estate Planning Council.
